Nikica Jelavic

Nikica Jelavic was born on August 27, 1985, in Capljina, Bosnia. He plays the position of forward-center for Rangers. He first played for local side GOSK Gabela, a team who plays in the Bosnian and Herzegovinian league system. He moved to the nearby cross border team NK Neretva, from Metkovic, which was managed by Branko Gutic.

After the move, his career took a more serious turn. At the young age of 15, he was brought to Hajduk Split’s junior side, being influenced heavily by Ante Prco, Ivan Gudelj, Drazen Muzinic, and Vilson Dzoni. After two years in the Prva HNL, in 2007 he signed for S.V. Zulte Waregem.

In his youth career Nikica Jelavic played for GOSK Gabela for the 1999-2001 season, NK Neretva for the 2001-2002 season, and he played for Hajduk Split from 2002 to 2005. In his senior career Nikica Jelavic played for Hajduk Split for the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 season, and had 24 apps, and 8 goals. For the 2007-2008 season he played for S.V. Zulte Waregem, and had 23 apps and 3 goals. In 2008, he played for Rapid Wien, bringing in 63 apps and 22 goals.

He is also playing for Croatia national side.
